A satisfying Saturday

For starters I wish to give myself a pat on the back for taking the opportunity to blog on the weekend. Usually around this time I find myself playing a game or considering sleep within the next hour or so. Though at this late hour I see it fit to document the details of my day.

Originally i woke up at around 10 o'clock after going to bed around 3 am yesterday. This was the first Friday where I went to bed earlier than 6 am. One of my goals for next year is to not stay up too late unless there's some sort of special occasion. In either case I obtained approximately 6-7 hours of sleep and wasn't content with it so I continued to lie in bed until i went back to sleep. Approximately 1 hour later I found myself re-awakening around noon and decided to actually begin my day.

Most of the day consisted of playing games and spending approximately 2 hours finalizing my Halloween costume. When I got to the party I got a few perplex looks but after i explained that I was a stick figure from xkcd the reception was a bit better. Unfortunately i didn't win 1st place for the costume contest though I wasn't expecting to do so as I didn't find my costume to be too creative. First place was given to emo kid which I must admit did make me a little emo. Also I wasn't able to show off the full potentially of my costume sense it was primarily made with glow sticks. Once the party took a smoke break outside the level of appreciate for it was a great deal higher.

Aside from this we watched "The Silence of The Lambs" which I thought was a bit slow but a great film non the less. The remainder of the evening was ok but far too many sexually jokes for my taste. There was one point in which several of female individuals were flaunting there 'assets' and one of the males mentioned 'It feels like I'm in heaven'. Being an individual that tends to speak his mind I instantly committed 'It appears you have some exceptional low expectations of heaven'. While there was no one backing my opinion I still stand by it as I feel the physically being is a bit useless once you pass into the afterlife but that's just my two cents.

With the conclusion of the party I drove back home (with the car having a considerable amount of frost) and now find myself watching some streams and typing out this blog. I plan to go upstairs soon and read for a bit before heading off to bed. That's about it for now so I shall conclude for this evening. Good night all!

One always wishes that he/she could have more time.

Some individuals set themselves in discontent when there is not enough time in a single day to sleep or enjoy leisure based activities. While I do fall into this category myself, work also seems to have a placeholder in the realm of time in which it appears there is not enough of it. For example today I was attending to work on a form however the amount of progress I was planning to make did not equate to the actual work completed. On the plus side I was able to assist a co-worker in obtaining some ideas as to how to best approach a data change which out weighs the bad I suppose.

With the conclusion of work I ventured my way back home to proceed forward with my plans for the evening. Primarily it consisted of working on a second character in Dungeon Defender and catching up with the e-sports I had fallen behind in. Later on this evening I plan to finish up a chapter of Network+ as the section relating to setting up a network for a small business has sparked my interest.

For now I must depart as there's an evening to enjoy ahead along with dinner to consume. Good night all!

Was considering sleep but remembered to blog

Fortunately (or unfortunately for my sleep schedule) I remembered that I needed to blog today.

Overall today went pretty well. I was able to attend to work today with a little less research and performed task more along the lines of executing test scenarios. After some consideration the previous night I realized that something released on Tuesday had a potential 'bug' which I focused a portion of the day applying a fix for the change to be rolled out next week. A majority of my work is primarily waiting for responses back from other teams so I can complete work from my end.

After work I caught up on some e-sports steams and played a bit more of dungeon defender. Catching up on reading hasn't concerned me too much as I'm beginning to focus on it more so during my lunch break. Though I would like to make it a habit to read in the morning, at lunch and before lying to bed. I also tried out/tested my Halloween costume this evening and its actually looking pretty solid. There's a Halloween party this weekend and last year I took first place. This year I don't believe that will happen as I wasn't able to brain storm any creative ideas.

My apology for lack of updates

It must be noted that my days are not necessarily busier but rather the transition from one web exploring client (firefox) to another (chrome) has made me forget of the existing of my blog as of recently. Primarily the reason I switched to chrome was for its light weight functionality and ability (in my opinion) to support flash a bit more effectively then firefox. However one setback has been the lack of addons, which are known as extensions in chrome), that provide the user with a bit more functionality and control over there browsing experience. A great example of this would be choosing a generic MP4 player over a Apple iPod. While the iPod looks a great deal nice in terms of external design internal it falls short in categories or providing the user with a proper MP4 experience, though I digress.

To prevent any further neglecting of providing this blog information I've added blogger.com to my bookmarks. As a result this should be updated on a more regular daily or bi-daily basis. Life wise there hasn't been many changes with the exception of a Halloween party this weekend and the typically task at work to attend to. I recently did devise my list of goals for 2012 which I will be putting into effect in the near future. Looking forward to getting some aspects of my life back on track or back to a level I feel comfortable with. For now I must depart as work is a necessary task which must be attend to. Recovered From Illness and A Splendid Weekend

First I wish to apologize for not updated my blog on a regular basis as due to sickness and in combination of a release of a new game the blog entries have been greatly lacking as a result. To update on all the content that's happen over the past few days into separate entries would take a great deal of time and I don't see that as a possibility. However my goal for this evening is to provided an overview of the work week and the weekend.

Work Week:

From a productivity standpoint, and also considering that I decided to stay home on Wednesday due to being ill, a great deal of work was completed. Unfortunately much of this work won't be distributed to the public until next month I'm still overall pleased with the outcome of each task attended to. I also took the opportunity to meet another individual at the company that has a deep passion for the work that he attends to. Not to mention several other individuals that have worked in the same field (accounting) who enjoy being an environment that provides a constant learning experience. I'm actually looking forward to going back into the office Monday to keep progressing on any outstanding assignments.

Weekend:

This weekend was in honesty provided a reflection of the past. To provide some background during the summer of my sophomore year, when I was unemployed and had very little motives to progress beyond the academic standards of university learning, I use to play a great deal of games in the mmo genre. One of these titles I had committed on a regular basis approximately 18-20 hours a day of playing it. This weekend was some what similar with the exception that it only lasted 2 days rather than 3 months. While I admit I am disappointed that not much reading was attended, I did attend to chorus prior to occupying myself in front of the computer for the remainder of the day. I conclude my gaming session around 7 pm to relax for the remainder of this evening.

Once again I apologize for not going into great detail as much of the information would take great deal of time to cover. Though i am glad I was able to write about it and have others read it. Hope everyone has a good night!

Has an odd feeling this week will go by swiftly

With possible 2 days of early morning activities to attend to for work, a minimum of one board game session along with a release of a game I've been anticipating for a couple months time management will be a crucial part of this week. With that said this post will be quite brief as I wish to rest early tonight and read a small portion of the Network+ Book.

Work today was a mixture of productive and lack there of. The earlier portion of the day was a continuation of the concluding research which required my attention from the previous week. During the afternoon portion I was able to complete a considerable amount of work and submit my changes for review. Once work was complete I stopped by my friend's place to pick up Trigun as she has completed watching the series and I didn't want a great length of time to pass before I was unable to recollect the thought of owning the series. Prior to departing I was invited to join a few friends for Korean food but unfortunately I had to pass as there were many task back at home which required my attention (washing dishes, reading, and retiring early to sleep). It was a bit disappoint but probably for the best.

Traffic was quite reasonable which allowed me to return hom at 6:00 pm. From here I relaxed for a bit watched some videos and ate some dinner. I just finished the portion of gaming for about an hour and now final note for tonight of concluding this blog. Thanks to anyone/everyone who reads this. Off to bed good night!

Weekend Status Updates

My lack of ability to provide a most recent account of my activities over the period defined as the 'weekend' has never surprised me. At least in the past when I was more diligent in writing in my blog and keeping an account of what happen on a regular basis. Though I believe one reason I stopped in the past was I began to weight the time invested into it compared to the benefits. Being able to open up the blog and reflect back on messages is of course worthwhile but at times I feel talking to myself out loud yields better results. However that is a rant for another day and this entry will cover the accounts of what happened on Friday and Saturday but not in any great detail as there's many task for me to attend to today.

Friday:

As we are all familiar with Friday begins the last day of the work week which for some maybe a slow day due to anticipation while for the rest it may seem like any other day or perhaps even quicker than others. The latter in most cases is quite true for myself as there is always a multitude of activities to complete with a set time frame. Most of the day was spent testing some of the research I attended to earlier in the week. Due to the results of a meeting on Thursday I was able to determine why one workflow wasn't working properly and as such need to follow-up with the business to double check there logic. This usually takes sometime so I ended up working on another task that used up the remaining hours of the work week.

Once I returned home I watched some streams and played a good bit of Isotropic/Dominion Online. Nothing particularly out of the ordinary sense I knew the following day was going to consist of a 4 hour trip (2 hours one way and 2 hours back) to a family reunion which I wasn't looking forward.

Saturday:

Even with knowing that my body would need to be awake again at 7 am , I decided to stay up till 2 am just for the entertainment factor. Equally with a 2 hour trip I would easily be able to fall asleep in the car on the way there, at least so I thought at the time. Prior to departure I made a pit stop at Wawa to obtain gas for the week and breakfast/lunch for the trip (consisting of 2 donuts). Originally the departure time was set to 8 am but everyone didn't arrive till 8:25 but we weren't in a hurry. For a portion of the trip I spent reading some of my Network + book while the second half I spent with my sleep mask on and listening to the "The Silmarillion".

Upon arriving I looked around the area then found a nice set of 4 trees to sit down and continue reading my Network+ book. With another chapter complete I turned my MP4 player back on and continued with the "The Silmarillion" which resulted in me actually taking a quick nap which was nice. After some interval of time that I'm unable to recall I was called in for a family picture and after the photo I went back underneath the tree to continue my nap.

Its exceptional rare for me to actually take a nap but due to being out in the country it seemed much easier to relax my mind and blank out all my thoughts. At one point it was beginning to get cold which resulted in me moving to the car to continue the nap. Eventually I woke up when my sister was calling for me though for no apparent reason. At that point I was roused and didn't obtain anymore naps for the day. The rest of the afternoon I skipped acorns across the road till it was time to depart.

For the return trip my sister took a 30 minute nap while I kept my nephew entertained. He seems to be amused by the simplest of things such as smiles or shaking/rotating ones head in different directions. On the return trip we did stop by a Martin's however by the Martins there was a pizza place I hadn't seen before. Adventuring into this establishment was well worth the trip as I returned with a menu and a 'buy one get one free' coupon. For the remainder of the evening I played a game called "Heroes of Newerth" which I had not played in about a month. The reason for the absence is mainly because its a team game and without at least one friend it can be a bit difficult. This activity went on till about 3 am at which I point I went to sleep.

Sunday:

For today I plan to focus on cleaning and relaxing. I may have another updated later today. Have a great day everyone!

Exceptionally Sleepy

After obtaining approximately 4 hours of sleep the prior night due to a large quantity of board gaming I'm actually quite surprised that my body is still going. None the less this will be a short entry for tonight as I plan to be asleep within the next hour.

Partly due in part of late night adventures I arrived at the office later than I originally anticipated. Work itself was a mixture of productivity and lack there of in some areas. For one ticket I was attending to I was able to obtain enough information to begin work on it while the remainder I on my list are basically waiting for requirements. Towards the end of the day I learned a bit more about how our form model works which was a plus.

With work complete I stopped by the grocery store to pick up some consumables for this weekend and essentially spent the rest of the eventing watching a few streams and chatting with people online. On this note I shall venture off to bed. Good night all!

No Blog Post for Today

To clarify in regards to this, the likelihood of posting a blog post for today is extremely low. Primarily because I will be venturing over to a friends house after work today and won't be returning till a later point. If the time allows I'll post my activities for the day if not have a good day/night everyone!

I welcome this day of productivity.

Compared to yesterday, today many task were attended to and overall I am pleased with the work I accomplished today. Though it is unfortunately that much of my work will not bear fruits till next week (which I will get to later on in this post) I none the less felt that the efforts I contributed to the overall day were worth wild.

This morning I woke up about an hour earlier than usually due to scripts which needed to be executed prior to 8 a.m. which resulted in me waking up at about 5:45. The typically morning routine soon followed and shortly after the commute to work. Upon arriving on time I booted up my PC and proceeded to run the necessary scripts. For the remainder of the day I spent most of my time working on 2 tickets and hoping to obtain the necessary approval so I could schedule a release for tomorrow. There's essentially several reasons I attempt to maximize the number of releases.

First it shows that I'm able to attend to work in the fast pace environment and provide quick turn around. Secondly, I prefer the longer work days which transitions to the third point which in some cases I have the option to leave work early on Friday. Previously to this position I use to enjoy working a large quantity of hours however after 8 months of being capped at 40 hours I'm beginning to enjoy the benefits of limitations.

None the less I was able to attend to two tickets today when the usually expectation is to complete one ticket each day and as such I was ahead of the game. With the completion of work I returned home and cooked myself up some dinner. Tonight meal was simply tater tots with an oatmeal pie as an after dinner meal. During that period I essentially caught up with all the e-sports related activity that was left from this weekend. For the remainder of the evening I spent some time developing my character for my friends D&D RPG.

That encompasses my overall day with the exception of going upstairs to read for a short period of time then retire to the land of darkness beneath my eyelids. Have a good night everyone!

Researcher was my role today

Today I must say definitely qualified as one of those days in which I felt I didn't get a great deal done but from a different viewpoint I was able to accomplish a great number of things today. I woke up at the usually time today and proceeded with my regular morning task. From that point I spent a brief moment at the computer and make my way to work. Traffic was a bit heavier than anticipated and as such the arrival time was about 5 minutes later than originally anticipated which resulted in me being late for my meeting. Though the meeting was with another co-worker and he didn't seem to mind.

Recently my co-worker had been attending the training sessions for the last 6 months so it was essentially myself on the team but due to my diligence after the last report that was provided to my team lead two more members were added to the team. The second individual also was in a 6 month training program and hadn't been exposed to our IT environment as of yet. Which brings me back to the context of the meeting which was to find easy work for the new individual to attend.

From that meeting there was another meeting which followed shortly after discussing what releases I had to attend to this week. Last week's bit of work was taking longer than anticipated and as such resulted in low turn over for this week which was understandable. Upon the completion of this meeting there was a 3rd one scheduled about an hour after it which also appeared to go smoothly.

For the remainder of the day not a great deal of actually work was done as most of my task revolved around what work was currently outstanding and what would be the best way of approaching it. Assuming that all goes well then the number of tickets that can be completed this month will be a great deal higher.

Left work at about 5 and arrived home around 5:30 to 5:45ish. At this point I proceeded to catch up some e-sport streams that I wasn't able to catch over the weekend. The event I was watching was streaming two tournaments at a time so had to pick and choose. Dinner consisted of hot dogs and tater tots. During dinner/stream (rather between matches) I took the time to begin reading through the "Dragon Age RPG rule set". One of my friends is interested in GMing a paper and pencil (P&P) of the game and I'm always up for trying new stuff so figured why not. Its essentially a water downed version of D&D (more so D&D 4.0 than 3.5 and 3.0) so it should be pretty straight forward.

With the stream being complete and filled my brain with as much Dragon Age rule set that I saw fit I proceeded to update my budget and play a small bit of isotropic (board game version of Dominion online). Which brings me to this point of updating my blog. Though I shall conclude my blog here tonight as a) I've covered my day and b) I've made a list of task I wish to attend to this week and I have about 30 minutes left to attend to one of them.

Steady Slow Sunday

From a productive perspective the day was rather lacking but one can view Sunday as the day of rest so the need for such task that yield the feeling of accomplishments are not necessary. After approximately 6 hours of sleep I rose from my bed and proceeded to venture downstairs and browse the internet for updates relating to the e-sports steams for today. Based on the starting times it allowed me 2 hours to attend to any chorus before plopping down in front of the computer for the remainder of the day. From this point I made up my bed, picked some cloths out for the day and took a shower. From this point I organized my computer area then proceeded to go out, shop for groceries, filled up the gas tank for the weekend and grab food for the day.

The meal I choose to have today was a bucket of fries and 2 hot dogs from Sheetz which was acceptable. I also had a pop-tart later on but the initially meal was more than enough to keep me full as the previous evening I had pizza's at Mojo which I was still full from. For the remainder of the day I stayed in and watched some e-sports streams. I plan to definitely attend to some reading in the future this week as I have a Shakespeare play to finish and a couple chapters of my Network + book I wish to complete as well.
